Lunchtime Lagniappe: The Butlers of Iberville Parish, Louisiana

Join the Capitol Park Museum for the latest edition of the "Lunchtime Lagniappe" series, this time featuring David Plater, author of The Butlers of Iberville Parish, Louisiana. Learn about the experiences of Edward G.W. and Frances Parke Butler, as they faced the evolution of agricultural methods, the transition from slave to free labor, and the political, social and economic changes brought on by the Civil War and Reconstruction.

David Plater is a retired maritime lawyer and history teacher and the former manager of Acadia Plantation in Thibodaux, Louisiana. This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and may come and go as schedules require.
