The Louisiana State Museum is excited to offer a FREE online drawing course for adults age 55 and older, led by teaching artist Jonathan Mayers. Over the course of eight weeks, students will learn drawing techniques and study spatial relationships and composition while focusing on architecture in the New Orleans region. Through the use of various materials, each person will create drawings of the architecture found in their neighborhoods, presenting visuals of contemporary life in Louisiana.

To register, contact Sara Lowenburg, Manager of Education, at [email protected] or 985-249-1136.

No previous experience is required, but students must have internet and computer access. The courses will meet over Zoom, and art supplies will be provided by the museum.

Wednesdays, September 30–November 18
2:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
