Founders Ball 2019

A period costume ball opening Chasing the Butterfly Man, the exquisite exhibition in the Cabildo with an aura of mystery...
The Louisiana Museum Foundation, the Louisiana State Museum, and Co-Chairs Jane Scott and Philip Hodges & Sweet and Ben Dupuy present the Founders Ball 2019, at the Cabildo, featuring the opening of the exhibition, Chasing the Butterfly Man, and honoring the legacies of Joy Nalty Hodges and Patsy and Jack Holden.
The Butterfly Man man was an early cabinetmaker surrounded by an aura of mystery. While his legacy of exquisite armoires lives on and his cabinets still grace River Road plantation homes, to this day no one knows his identity.
For the first time ever, these magnificent privately owned pieces and other artifacts will be brought together in Chasing the Butterfly Man. The exhibit will also provide a glimpse into the life and times of post-Louisiana Purchase New Orleans as it presents the artisan-contenders, of whom one was most assuredly the mysterious Butterfly Man!
To play on this enchanting backdrop at the Founders Ball 2019, guests will step back in time to meet the Butterfly Man contenders, brought to life for an evening of fun, food and free-flowing libations!
