Lafayette Addresses the Citizens of New Orleans in Jackson Square
Join Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser as he welcomes and introduces a historical reenactment of Lafayette’s Address to kick off French Quarter Fest from the Jackson Square stage. General Lafayette—portrayed by renowned interpreter Mark Schneider of Colonial Williamsburg—will deliver a special address to the citizens of New Orleans at 10:15 a.m.
This event is FREE and open to the public, sponsored by the American Friends of Lafayette and the Louisiana State Museum. Period attire is highly encouraged.
In addition, the Louisiana Museum Foundation, in partnership with the Louisiana State Museum’s Cabildo, will host a special event celebrating the 200th anniversary of Lafayette’s visit to New Orleans. VIP Tickets are available to support the Louisiana Museum Foundation, granting all-day access to a hospitality suite on the first floor of the Cabildo and exclusive tours of the new Bienvenue Lafayette exhibition.
All wristband proceeds benefit the Louisiana Museum Foundation and the Bienvenue Lafayette exhibition at the Cabildo.
