Bryan Wagner (author of a new book on the maroon Bras Coupé), Kalamu Ya Salaam (poet, educator, and series editor at UNO Press), and Brenda Marie Osbey (author of All Saints and former poet laureate of Louisiana) discuss scholarship and creative works related to the topic and consider how these acts of freedom continue to inspire us today.
