The oaks are at the E.D.White Historic Site, a state museum six miles north of Thibodaux on La. 1, where area kids will celebrate “Art & Earth Day,” 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.
Activities for the day, says Aleta Leckelt, of Friends of E.D.White Historic Site, involve Jean Lafitte National Park; the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program; the Bayou Country Children’s Museum; the United Houma Nation; student groups from E.D. White Catholic High and East Thibodaux Middle School; the Thibodaux Service League, the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office’s Explorer Post 323 and the local DARE anti-drug program.
Bounce houses, games, story time by the Lafourche Public Library and lots more. Kids’ favorite foods, hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, cupcakes, chips and soft drinks will be for sale. Admission, $1, but kids under 3 are free.
