Sensory Friendly Mardi Gras Celebration

Children with autism and developmental disabilities and their families are invited to the Louisiana State Museum to celebrate carnival in style! On Saturday, February 5, 2022, 9:00–11:00 a.m., the Presbytère will open early to minimize crowds and exhibit noises. Trained educators and volunteers will help lead drop-in art activities and exploration of the new exhibition Rex: The 150th Anniversary of the School of Design. Participants will also hear carnival music from a brass band and learn more about the instruments they use. Come create, dance, sing, and celebrate together. This program is free for the whole family, but registration is required. Please register here: https://forms.gle/y56a9nLGsrM3p1qr9 ATTENTION: The childrens' session is now full. There are still spots available for teens and adults starting at 11 a.m. Thank you for understanding!
