Join us VIRTUALLY on Zoom as historian and author Ric A. Dias explores the extraordinary career of Henry J. Kaiser, a trailblazing entrepreneur known for achieving the seemingly impossible.

When he announced his plans to enter the wartime shipbuilding business and mass-produce steel in the small, agricultural town of Fontana, California, experts were shocked. His determination, however, made him a national figure. "Miracle Man Kaiser" built a steel plant in record time, and it churned out over a million tons of the invaluable metal for the 1940s war effort. In an industry marked by discord, his company embraced the slogan 'Together We Build,' becoming a powerhouse under his adept leadership in labor relations.

Dias is the author of Kaiser Steel of Fontana: Together We Build and a professor of history at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
