Lunchtime Lagniappe: North Central Louisiana in the Great War
Join us for an engaging lunchtime talk as local historian Kevin Shannahan explores life in North Central Louisiana during World War I.
Kevin Shannahan has lived in Natchitoches since 1994. A former U.S. Air Force officer, he taught in Red River Parish through the Troops to Teachers program and recently retired from state service. His interest in Louisiana’s history—particularly during the Reconstruction and Jim Crow eras—was sparked while teaching in Coushatta. Kevin has previously presented at the museum on topics including the Great Depression, World War II, General Stephen Henry, surviving Louisiana Green Book sites, and the Jewish experience in Natchitoches.
Free and open to the public. Visitors are welcome to bring their lunch and enjoy the talk.
