Looking for a family-friendly way to celebrate Mardi Gras in Baton Rouge? The Friends of the Capitol Park Museum invite you to our annual Spanish Town Parade Party, the best seat in town for one of the city’s most iconic and beloved parades. Guests enjoy exclusive front-row street viewing, access to clean indoor restrooms, delicious food and drink options, and a cash bar for those wanting festive cocktails. The celebration also features king cakes, a lively Kid’s Zone, and face painting for children and families.

New last year, we introduced a 21+ VIP Area, offering an elevated experience for guests wanting a little extra flair during the festivities. In 2026, we are continuing that tradition—but more elevated! Whether you’re a local or visiting Baton Rouge for Mardi Gras, this event offers the perfect blend of fun, comfort, and community—right in the heart of downtown.

All proceeds support the Friends of the Capitol Park Museum, helping fund educational programming, public events, volunteer initiatives, financial support, and cultural resources that keep Louisiana’s history vibrant and accessible. This event serves as our largest annual fundraiser! Find out more at CapitolParkFriends.org
