Capitol Park Museum invites families and visitors of all ages to Discovery Day: Battle of New Orleans, a hands-on educational program exploring Louisiana’s role in the War of 1812. Visitors are encouraged to explore the museum’s “Louisiana at War” gallery, which highlights the significance of the Battle of New Orleans and its impact on the state and the nation. As part of the event, children can participate in a free educational craft, creating a mini cannon using a film canister.
