Notes
Plate 5 from Speed's 1631 "A Prospect of the Most Famous Parts of the World." The work from which this map was taken, the first world atlas published by an Englishman, was famous for its border panels depicting the costumes of Native American in South and North America. Small border cartouches illustrate images of villages in the Caribbean islands and South America.
