Notes names of some of the landowners. From Thomassy's 1860 "Géologie Pratique de La Louisiane." Thomassy (1810-1863), a French hydraulic engineer, visited Louisiana and became interested in the Mississippi River and the state's coastal area. Thomassy's work was the first to describe the state's salt domes and to attempt to explain the origin of saltwater intrusions in Louisiana waterways.
