Hidden Treasures: Carnival Edition presented by Friends of the Cabildo
Hidden Treasures: Carnival Edition returns in 2026 for a one-night-only behind-the-scenes experience at the Louisiana State Museum. On Wednesday, February 4, guests are invited to join the Friends of the Cabildo for an exclusive after-hours viewing of the Museum’s renowned Carnival Collection, featuring historic costumes and other rarely seen artifacts not typically accessible to the public.
This intimate program will be led by Wayne Phillips, Curator of Costumes and Textiles for the Louisiana State Museum, who will guide participants through the Museum’s storage areas—spaces usually closed to visitors—for a firsthand look at Carnivals of years past. Two showings are offered at 5:30 p.m. (SOLD OUT) and 7:00 p.m. at 1000 Chartres Street. Reservations are required, with no tickets available at the door. Tickets are $25 for Friends of the Cabildo members and $35 for general admission, with attendance limited to 20 guests per showing. Reserve your tickets at FriendsoftheCabildo.org.
