The Louisiana Museum Foundation presents an opening reception on Thursday, May 8, 2025, to celebrate Pioneers of Women’s Carnival, a landmark exhibition at the Presbytère on Jackson Square. This immersive and inspiring showcase honors the groundbreaking contributions of women who have reshaped Mardi Gras through creativity, advocacy, and leadership—including the indomitable Aminthe Laudumiey Nungesser, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Presbytère, 6–9 p.m., featuring festive cocktails, gourmet bites from Dickie Brennan & Co., Commander’s Palace, and Jacques-Imo’s, and live music by the legendary Original Pinettes Brass Band.

Mingle with special guests including Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, Mardi Gras Guide founder Arthur Hardy, Krewe of Iris Historian Jimmy Clark, and Louisiana State Museum’s own Wayne Phillips, Curator of Costumes & Textiles and Curator of Mardi Gras.

All proceeds support dynamic exhibitions like Pioneers of Women’s Carnival and year-round educational programming.

Tickets are limited—get yours now through the Louisiana Museum Foundation's Eventbrite!
