Paper Airplane Flying Contest
This Memorial Day weekend, stop by the Wedell-Williams Aviation & Cypress Sawmill Museum any time between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM to create your very own paper airplane and fly it in competition.
FOUR contest categories: Elementary (PK-4th), Middle (5th-8th), High School (9th-12th), and Adult/Open (all ages).
Participants will be provided with one standard sheet of 8.5x11 in. paper, and using folding ONLY participants will make their paper airplane and fly their airplanes in our lobby for up to three attempts and the distance will be measured from our starting line to where the plane is after sliding. Winners will be determined by the longest distance.
1st place in each category will be announced via our Facebook page and will receive a prize (TBA). Prizes can be picked up on the afternoon of May 23rd after winners are announced or the following week during regular museum hours.
