Explore the legends, stories and traditions that have helped shape Louisiana culture during Discovery Day: Louisiana Folklore at Capitol Park Museum.

On October 3rd, visitors to the museum will have the chance to learn about Louisiana Folklore and how it is intertwined with our state’s culture and identity. Besides walking through our educational galleries where visitors can learn about Louisiana Cajun and Creole history, participants will have the chance to dive deeper into the subject matter through the creation of their own spooky or non-spooky loups-garous as well as through our take-home worksheets where we will dive into other Louisiana Legends and folklore stories.

Discovery Day includes discounted museum admission and a free educational craft. Come discover how folklore continues to influence Louisiana’s culture, communities and identity.
