Celebrate one of Louisiana’s most iconic coastal treasures at Capitol Park Museum’s Discovery Day: World Oyster Day! Families and visitors of all ages are invited to learn more about the oyster’s importance to Louisiana’s environment, economy, foodways, and cultural traditions.

Enjoy discounted museum admission, explore the galleries, and take part in a free educational craft inspired by the world of oysters and Louisiana’s coastal heritage. It is a great opportunity to spend the morning learning, creating, and celebrating the species that has shaped so much of life along the Gulf Coast.
