Christmas in July: Countdown to 100
Join the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum as we host the opening events of Christmas in July: Countdown to 100, the official kickoff to the celebration of the 100th Natchitoches Christmas Festival, on Friday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The morning begins at 10 a.m. with a press conference marking the official start of the festival's centennial celebration. At 10:45 a.m., guests are invited to the opening of A Century of Christmas in Natchitoches, a new exhibit created by the Cane River National Heritage Area that explores a century of holiday traditions, memories, and community celebrations. The exhibit opening will be followed by a reception at 11 a.m.
This event serves as the official kickoff to a full day of Christmas in July festivities taking place throughout downtown Natchitoches.
The museum is proud to partner with the Cane River National Heritage Area to host this special event, along with the Natchitoches Main Street Program, the Natchitoches Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Natchitoches Historic District Business Association, as we celebrate 100 years of one of Louisiana's most beloved holiday traditions.
