Explore the legend of La Llorona, “the one who weeps,” with Heather Salter Dromm, instructor of English at NSU. Drawing on stories she collected in Zwolle, Louisiana, twenty-five years ago, Dromm will discuss local variations of the legend and how storytellers make their accounts believable. She will also share her composition and rhetoric students’ writing about La Llorona, offering a contemporary perspective on this enduring legend.
