Notes
Built by the French in 1754, Fort Duquesne located on the present-day site of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. As the British prepared for an attack on the fort during the French and Indian war in 1754, the French burned Fort Duquesne before abandoning it on November 25, 1758. Today, the site is a national park. A note at the botton of the plan notes that this plan "was sent from America, as it had been taken by some curious French deserters."
