The claim of Bertrand Maillouch represented by the lines shaded with Green..the part within the lines shaded with purple supposed to be the extent of the claim of the Appalachie Indians...This is to certify that at the request ...of Messrs. Miller & Fulton, Merchants of the Post of Rapides of Mr. Valentine Laissard, Spanish Agent for Indian affairs, and Don Louis, Chief of the Tensas tribe and also a number of Individuals the most considerable of that and the Appalacian tribe and with consent and in the presence of Mr. Ennemond Meullien, Commandant of the Post, I have surveyed...a tract of land...containing 11230 french acres (arpens (sic)] ....on the Red River, about seven leagues above this Post."
