Louisiana as proclaimed by La Salle April 9, 1682 - Commercial rights over this territory were granted by Louis XIV to Antoine de Crozat as far as the Illinois River Sept. 14, 1712 - The entire territory was ceded by France to Spain Nov. 3, 1762. Grant of Charles V. of Spain to De Narvaez in 1526.
