Notes

This map is attached to a letter writen to New Orleans Mayor Robert S. Maestri, by Sidney L. Ferry, dated December 19, 1949. In his letter to Maestri, Ferry expressed his disappointment that Maestri's eleven point platform did not include the Industrial Canal. Ferry supported the implementation of a 1928 law authorizing the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans to "organize and build industrial districts in connection with the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal." Ferry asked Maestri what he would do to "correct the impediment, or fully exploit and develop the possibilities of the industrial canal."
