The land acquired by the Louisiana Purchase is shown divided into its three parts: Orleans (in the south, most of which became present-day Louisiana), Mississippi (which became Missouri, Kansas, etc.) and Louisiana (in the north, which became Iowa, Nebraska, etc.).
